Flourish Volume 3 – A Snippet of Scandinavia
128 page lifestyle and travel publication showcasing Scandinavia.
Far more than just a straightforward travel magazine and much more of a coffee-table piece, Flourish is a biannual travel and lifestyle publication focusing its content around outdoor living, nature, culture and sustainability. These are thick volumes printed on high quality paper with some absolutely stunning photography. Started by UK-based photographer and designer Lucy Saunders and centred on a photographic approach, the publication contains photo-essays, interviews, evocative descriptions of different geographies and personal stories of adventure, all reflecting Lucy’s passion for travel and ecological adventures, exploring the natural world and documenting new places. Flourish is all about thriving in a particular place, community or culture, and flourishing in the outdoors. Each volume is set around one place and aims to give the reader a real insight into the life that is lived there and the nature that surrounds it from the point of view of the editors’ own experiences, thoughts and feelings.
Volume 3 – A Snippet of Scandinavia showcases a few of the editors’ favourite spots in Scandinavia, from camping and hiking in the wilderness to city escapes, interior design, and bringing Scandinavian food into our homes with hygge recipes. It includes an interview with Landscape Photographer of the Year award-winner Andy Farrer about his time spent photographing Norway’s Arctic North, insights from well-known British design bloggers on how to bring a touch of Scandinavian aesthetic into your home, comforting and restorative recipes and articles on travel from subarctic Finnish Lapland to cosmopolitan Copenhagen, all accompanied as ever by breathtaking photography and stunning illustrations. An ideal gift for anyone who has been captivated by the life and style of our viking neighbours.

Home from home, Scandinavia in all its beauty feels pure, raw, natural and stylistically simple. From the blue hues of Norway’s glaciers, Iceland’s monochrome landscape, Sweden’s eye for design, the expansive calming nature of Finland or the scented aroma of Denmarks’ flower markets, Scandinavia is a true place for exploration. Among the wilderness, it is also a place I enjoy visiting to just take a moment to sit back and sip coffee in Stockholm, Oslo or Copenghagen. There is a handful of small independently owned coffee shops, bakeries and eateries throughout these beautiful cities, a must stop for any foodie like me. I hope you enjoy reading this next volume as much as I have enjoyed making it, and always remember to stop and embrace what is around you…
